Phantom on Ice

Yes! I was looking for Phantom of the Opera on YouTube. I found some old parts and I thought it was a bit boring. Then I saw a clip where Antonio Banderras (Zorro) actually sang the part of the Phantom. That was interesting. But the thing that interested me most was Phantom of the Opera on Ice. Here's the link. Jasper thought. 9 mins, 14 seconds. Hhow did she do it? How?!
Nicah looked at him. "I can see you're upset."
"Huh? No I'm not!" He forced a smile.
Nicah told him. "Don't worry, I know," she smiled. "Oh, and Jasper, thank you for saving me last time, the explosion."
Jasper was blushing and smiled. "Umm... Hehe. Just doing my job."
"No you weren't. That wasn't part of your job."
"Hehe."

Jem and Yanna were suspicious. What was Jasper and Nicah talking about? They saw them talkking in whispers. Then Yanna's phone rang.
Yanna answered it, "Hello? Oh. Hi! yeah....yeah... maybe... I can't... Bye!"
Joshua asked, "Who was that?"
Yanna answered, "Classmate. Too bad you are not GCF anymore, and you can't be first year anyway."
Joshua said, 'Great, I have to start Grade 2 again."
Yanna teased him, "Hmm... Maybe you can be promoted to 1st year high."
"That would be too suspicious."

Jem thought about the phone. The phone. Phone... Phone.... Cellphone... Becky had a phone call...
Jem realized it at that instant. "Hey guys. I realized something. Who called Becky?"
Nicah turned back, "Oh yeah. We didn't think about that yet."
Yanna said, "And... oh yeah! I smelled flowers in the room."
Joshua replied, "Yes. I think that's something significant."
Jem asked, "And why was the man curled up like he was squeezed in a box or something?"
Jasper said, "There's only one way to find out."
And all of them entered the house and went to the sister. She was dismissing the police.
"No! Arrest her immediately." She pointed at the housemaid.
Jasper went to the head police, "What is the cellphone number of that lady over there?"
The man replied, "Sorry kid, police business."
"Please?"
"The magic word always gets me." And he wrote the number on a small piece of paper. Jasper gave it to Joshua, who in turn, ran to the car."

Yanna went once more to the crime scene. She searched every nook and cranny but nothing else was interesting. She looked back at the overturned carpet portion. She pulled it up, just to see what was underneath. "Hmm... Strange marks." There were two lines, a bit far from each other. "Looks like something scraped against the floor. She asked photographed it and searched for more clues. She learned a method of getting fingerprints. She checked the large window sill. The police were investigating fingerprints everywhere. They were the fingerprints of the victim. Without any clear direction, she got a chair and searched for fingerprints high in the window. After dusting lots of powder, she found some fingerprints, on the top. What could this mean? Even if I was tall enough, I couldn't reach that height. She checked the fingerprints with the others on the windowsill. It was the same as the victim's.

Jem and Jasper went down to interrogate the housemaid.
Jasper told her, as he turned on the concealed microphone in his jacket, "I know you're innocent, but please cooperate with me. Did Mr. Grecia ever come out of the house? What happened yesterday when Becky came in the house?"
She replied, "No, Mr. Grecia didn't come out of the room the whole night. Yo the second question, I don't know. I am ordered by Mrs. Grecia not to meddle in her family's business. But once in a while, they ask me to bring something to them when they ask. Yesterday, I heard her car coming. And then, she told me to bring a giant bag, with wheels. You know those big bags where a person as tall as you can fit? She said she had lots of food from the party."
Jem asked her, "Did you see such food?"
"I wasn't supposed to help her, but I did see lots of food a while ago."
Jasper told her, "We will get to the bottom of this, I promise."

After this, they were assembled in the room.
Nicah looked up at the fingerprints as she listened to Jem and Jasper. "Why are there fingerprints in the first place?"
Joshua sadly said, "I found information about the caller. Sadly, it was from a phone booth. Phone booths are public so millions call everytime."
Jasper checked the windowsill. He opened the windows. "What could the victim have been doing with his hands up there?"
He climbed up on the big window and stood on it. He looked down. It's an easy jump from here to the ground. To keep his balance, he held the top of the window. Huh? He looked at his hand.
"My friends..." Jasper lost his balance and fell to the ground. Nicah asked him, "Are you okay?"
"Yes..." His chest pounded. The Poptoposin still wasn't complete yet. He clutched his chest. "I know who the killer is.""

Possible Solutions

Yanna helped Mrs. Grecia to sit down. She sobbed and sobbed and sobbed.
After the crying, Yanna finally asked her.
"What happened?"
Mrs. Grecia looked at her and started talking. Yanna touched her glasses, which hid a button. That button was used to turn a mic from the eyeglasses on and it instantly recorded on Joshua's computer. "It's my new invention!" Joshua smiled (of course, he was still big then).
"Yesterday, I came home from work. I work in a store as a saleslady and come home everynight at about 12 a.m. since my shift ends at 10. After that, I eat my dinner and go home. I came back home and I saw my sister crying over a dead body..." She choked with tears. "My husband..."
Yanna listened to her and pressed the button on her glasses. She told her, "Don't worry, my friends and I will figure this out. Can you please keep this a secret from the police?"
The woman smiled at her with tears. "Okay."
Yanna asked her once more, "Where is the room you found your sister and your husband?"
"It's the room at the end of the corridor."
"Thank you very much."

She walked from the room to the room the woman told her. She caught sight of the others at another room, interviewing what seemed to be the Mrs. Grecia's sister. Joshua wasn't there.
He must have slipped from them to his computer.
She walked to the room and smelled something fresh.
"Flowers," a young voice suddenly exclaimed. She looked and was surprised to see Joshua.
An outline of a body by tape was left on the floor. It showed a young man curled up like he was squeezed inside a small space.
Joshua looked at her and said, "I have been listening to your conversation with Mrs. Grecia."
Yanna just couldn't believe that a young kid would talk like that.
"I was also listening to the sister's statement. She said she went to a party with her friends. Nicah and Jem have this feeling she did it, and I do too. But it's almost imposible. Jasper called her friends and each said the same thing. She said she had a phone call. She told them to wait for her for ten minutes. After that, she came back and they continued the party."
Yanna replied, "That seems weird. Let us try to find out if she could have gone from the party to this house and back, within ten minutes." Yanna eyed the surroundings, without taking a step. Joshua walked towards her to go out the door. Suddenly, Yanna said "No!" and held Joshua by the shirt. She pointed at a small portion of carpet overturned just near the door.
Jem came in with her camera. "What's worth picturing?"
Yanna pointed at the portion of carpet. "That."
The camera the police had given her had flashed and clicked. Click! Click! She shot the taped outline.
Jem asked, "Why are you carrying Joshua with his shirt."
Joshua was mad. "You coud have just told me to stop before I hit it."
Yanna apologized while laughing. "Well... Okay! Let's get back to the car. Jasper and Nicah are there, right?" She looked at Jem.
Jem nodded.

Nicah decided, "We are all gonna try to figure out if the sister, Becky, could have done it. We're going there now."
Jasper said, "Yes. We suspect her because she keeps on denying and was furious. Somehow, I could tell in her eyes, that she was lying. Our list of suspects, Mrs. Grecia, Becky, and the maid. The housemaid is also a likely suspect, Nicah interviewed her. But all we got was that Mrs. Grecia came home at 12 a.m. Becky came home at 11:50. She cried because Mrs. Grecia and Becky suspected her but I could tell she was innocent."
Jem told him, "Wow. For such chinky eyes you could see if others are lying or not."
And for the first time after he shrunk, Joshua laughed with the others.

After 10 mins., they arrived at the place of the party. It was a decent place. Yanna held a stopwatch as Jasper went out of the car and put on his white band, holding a stopwatch himself. He was gonna race the car to the house, but more importantly, he was gonna beat 10 mins.
She shouted, "Ready...Set... GO!"
And cars screeched and Jasper ran and turned left to the subway station. Jasper took the subway, stole a bike, stopped at an intersection, got a Jollibee Pocket Pie from his pocket, and ran all the way to the house.

Jasper stopped the watch. 9 mins. 14 seconds. He breathed heavily.
The car arrived with the others 30 seconds later.
Jasper shouted at them, "9 MINS. 14 SECONDS!"
Jem went out of the car and looked at Jasper's stopwatch. The others went after her.
Jasper said "Yes! I told you she could have done it!"
Joshua replied, "I'm sorry Jaz. But after 9 mins. 14 seconds, she couldn't have time to do the murder and return to the party on time."
Jasper frowned, "Oh man!"
Nicah said, "Back to the old drawing board."

They all went to Jem's new car. It was a big silver one.
Nicah was awed. "Ooooooh!"
Jasper looked at it. "Shiny!"
Joshua frowned. "I think I'm too short to climb in!"
Yanna laughed. "Yeah. I can see that."
Jem opened the car and they all went in. Yanna helped Joshua up to his seat. Jasper sat at the front. Joshua sat at the back in between Yanna and Nicah.
Joshua was asking. "Why do I have to sit in between 2 girls??"
Nicah answered, "Because kids always have to stay in the middle with seatbelts."
Joshua said, "I think I'm changing from optimistic to pessimistic."
And they all laughed.

1 hour later they arrived at a house. There were police cars around it.
The police shooed them, "Sorry kids. You are too small to get involved. Especially that short guy." He pointed at Joshua.
Joshua was furious. "How many..." Nicah covered his mouth. He calmed down.
Jasper replied, "We're relatives. Can we please come in? I'd like to see my aunt."
The man said, "Hmm... perhaps I'll let you in. And can you take some pics of the scene? Thanks guys. You may be famous for helping out the police."
He gave them a film camera and he went to the crime scene. Jasper led the way. They entered the big house and went to the second floor. There they heard sobbing. A moan and a cry at once.

Jem knocked on the door. "Hello?" She pushed the door open and they saw a woman with her head on the bed. "Oh John! Why'd you have to kill yourself?"
Yanna went to her and comforted her. She signalled to the others that they should find the other members while she talks to this woman.

As soon as they left, Yanna talked to the woman.
The woman said, "I am Ms. Sally Grecia. Who are you?"
"I'm Yanna. Why are you crying?" Yanna asked, although she knew why.
"How did you get here? The police surely wouldn't let you in," she asked her.
"My friends and I wanted to come here to help you. We needed to help you."
"Okay *sob*" she sobbed.

Joshua saw the picture and wondered. How did I get this small? Where am I?
Suddenly, Nicah came in the door. I knew it was a girl's room.
"Hi Joshua!!! You're so cute....." She said as she pinched Joshua's cheeks. Joshua got irritated.
"How'd I get this small??? Tell me!!! What happened???"
"You're cuter now than yesterday. Haha."
"Cmon! Listen to me!"

"Here Joshua. Good thing Jasper found some small clothes in your house. If you gave away your clothes to charity, you would be wearing my old clothes instead."
Joshua shuddered. "Eeeew."

Joshua changed from his too-big-for-his-size-now clothes to his old and small clothes, of course, in the bathroom.
Nicah got a ruler and measured him. "You are 3 feet 6 inches. How's that?"
"Yeah whatever. Did Carlos have something to do with this?"
"Well... Yes. But we better hurry, Jasper called for an important meeting."

They all gathered in Jasper's house.
Yanna and Jem went to Joshua and pinched his cheeks.
He got irritated again. "Ahhh! Stop it!'
Yanna said, "Cmon Joshua. It's only now that you get to be cute."
"Shut up."
Jasper said, "Back to business." His chest still hurt but it was healing. "We got a message from Carlos. The poptoposin will heal in 10 days. But the Apoptoxin...," he looked at Joshua,"...He has no idea when it will heal."
Joshua was furious. "What???! How do you expect I be this small???! Now I feel what Shinichi feels."
"Hey. It's better you became small than die! Anyway," he said. He then looks at the others. "I was watching the news. They have reported the old castle explosion. They didn't see us, they wouldn't believe us either."
Jem started talking. "I heard someone died in this place. I saw it in the news. The police suspects it was suicide but the family insists it was murder."
Nicah decided, "We're gonna go there and solve it. Who knows, we might be famous!"
Jasper teased Joshua. "Sorry Josh, PG 12. Haha!"
Joshua frowned. "Oh man! I hate being small!"

Explosion

Wahhh! Since we had no classes today, I have to make up on one Saturday! Haha. Our bonding is postponed. Hahah.

Anyway, let me continue the story. This is what Jasper said.

The man chuckled and pressed the button. He laughed as all the doors closed and a timer started counting, "5..4..3.."
The kids all shouted, except Joshua, who was asleep. "2..1..0...Initiating"

BOOM!

Joshua woke up. "Phew! It was only a dream" Then he saw a picture of the explding mansios.
"AHHHHH!"

Now that's a weird story. Who in the world would picture an exploding house at the precise second?

Now, this is my cont. Thanks Jazz for the idea.

The man smiled and chuckled. *cough*
He clicked the button. The timer sounded counting. "5 mins."
The old man smiled evilly, "Goodbye! Hehehe." And he died.
As soon as Yanna noticed that, the kids ran as fast as they can. But Jasper and Joshua were slowing them down. Then suddenly, a door closed in front of them. "4 mins. 30 seconds"
A computer was on the wall. "Enter Password"

Nicah looked at Carlos. "Do you know the password to override the doors?"
Carlos panicked. "Unfortunately no. But I heard it was related to Sherlock Holmes."
Jem typed Sherlock, Holmes, Sherlock Holmes, Watson, but nothing worked.
Carlos said, "Try other detectives."
Yanna typed Kudo Shinichi. Wrong. Edogawa Conan. Wrong.
Nicah asked, "Why'd you write that?"
Yanna replied, "Umm... Nothing..."
"4 mins"

They panicked. Joshua was sleeping. Jasper was hurt.
Jasper thought and coughingly said. "6457530"
Nicah typed it and miraculously the door opened.
Nicah asked, "How did you know?"
Jasper replied, "Help me now. Help you later."
"3 mins. 30 seconds."

They ran and typed as fast as they can. They reached one door however with a diff. password.
"2 mins 45 seconds"
Carlos said. "I don't know anythin else!"
Nicah replied. "What will we do?"
"2 mins. 30 seconds"
They panicked. Typing everything they can.
Suddenly Jem, unconsciously wroted "cows". The door opened.
"1 min. 30 seconds"
Jem said, "I have no idea why they put that!"
And they ran to the front door. One last computer.
"45 seconds"
Jasper said. "We have no time." And with his last ounce of strength, he pushed a wooden wall beside the door. Sunlight.
Jasper fell. Nicah rushed to help him. "Leave me..." he said.
Nicah urged him on, "No, I won't."
Yanna and Jem rushed out of the mansion, carrying the small Joshua in their arms.
Carlos ran to the street after them.
Nicah and Jasper were left.
Carlos shouted, "Come on!!!"
"10 seconds"
"9"
"8"
Nicah looked at Jasper, "Jasper!!"
"7"
"6"
"5"
"4"
Jasper looked at Nicah. "Nicah!"

"1"
Jasper rolled over, putting Nicah under him.
"Initiating"

Carlos, Jem, and Yanna watched the mansion, as it exploded with Jasper and Nicah outside it.
"NO!!!"
They stood there. As if waiting for them to come out of the smoke.
Nothing came out.
The girls sobbbed and went inside the car, putting Joshua in the back seat. Carlos watched. Tell me the medicine worked...
As they were about to leave, a shadow came out of the smoke. A tall person leaning on a small girl. Nicah and Jasper.
"Yes!" Yanna and Jem shouted.
Carlos smiled. Yep. It worked.
Soon they were all going home. Carlos dropped of in one corner.
"I'll be finding a new home. Thanks!"
Nicah asked him. "Are you okay by yourself?"
"Yeah! Bye Guys! Thanks! God Bless!"
And they separated their ways.

Epilogue

Joshua woke up on a bed. It was not his bedroom. No.
He saw a picture of Yanna, Jasper, Jem, Nicah and Carlos. And a small kid.
Why am I not there?
He fell of the bed. He stood up. I suddenly feel like I shrunk.
He looked at the mirror and the picture.
"Oh man..." He said.

The Denouement

Hey! I don't wanna act.

The gun was pointed straight at Nicah. She was sweating.
"I'm going to count to 10..." said the older man. "If you don't become a good girl and go to that room and stay there... I'm going to kill you!"
The old man started to reload the bullets. "S***... one last bullet... oh well... this is where I plan where it all ends up in"
Nicah sighed... "I guess this is it..." A tear rolled down her cheek.
"1..." said the older man. "2... 3.... are you sure?"
"Yes..." said Nicah determined. "I'm going home Lord..."
"1..." said the older man again. "2... 3... ellipsis... 10!"
Everything stopped for a milisecond. Joshua stood up and said,
"An ellipsis is in layman's terms, 'dot dot dot.' It is used when you want to skip many words, letters or numbers." Then he sat down on the ground and time replayed.
"10!" the villain squeezed the trigger. Jasper watched from the ground. Voluntarily, he stood, ran, pushed Nicah just in time, and hit the wall.The bullet hit him smack in the heart. The good thing was that he was wearing a bulletproof jacket. Although he was, the impact of the bullet broke his bones. He couldn't stand up. I need to pretend I'm dead.
Nicah shouted, "JASPER!!!"

Now two of them were down. Jasper and Joshua. Carlos knew what to do to help them. But he had to make use of the situation facing him. He grabbed a stick on the ground and threw it at the old man's feet. The old man screamed as the pointed part hit his Achille's heel. He knelt on the floor in pain. Nicah ran to him and kicked him hard on the solar plexus.
"Arrgh!" The old man scremaed as he bent over in pain.
Yanna ran and stepped on the old man's back.
"Ooooowwww!" He said.
Finally, Jem went to him and did the most natural thing.
"We win! You lose! Bluuuh!" With her tounge faced at him.
The three then tied him up on the side of the wall while Carlos did something to him that made him unconscious.

The man's gun landed at Joshua's feet. Joshua kicked it out of sight. Then he lay down in pain of his head and body. Jasper was lying at the opposite, with cracked bones and blood on his chest.

Carlos took two pills from his pocket. "Jasper, here are 2 pills I made. One is Apoptoxin and the other is Poptoposin. Both could regenerate body damage."
Nicah went to Carlos, "What's the difference?"
"I only have two. Luckily only 2 got hurt today."
"So what's the difference?"
"Poptoposin takes 2 weeks to heal and it is extremely painful. This makes the cells in the body release a chemical called Poptopose. A cell regeneration chemical. Normally, bones would grow back for many months. This reduces it to a few."
Jem and Yanna went to Carlos. They asked, "What then is Apoptoxin?"
"Ahhh. Apoptoxin. It makes cells release a chemical called Apoptose. It is also cell regeneration on two different scales. The first stage takes a few minutes. Apoptose is a dangerous chemical used to destroy cells. It reduces them by 50%. So if your body contained 50000000 cells, it's effects will give you 25000000 cells. I've never tested it myself but the first stage should work perfectly. I tried it on my pet monkey Charles. Charles was reduced to the size of a baby. Apoptose removes the damaged cells and leaves only healthy cells."
Yanna replied. "It sounds so familiar."
"I'm betting you watch Detective Conan. I got the idea from there. Apoptoxin... It also activates another hormone which speeds up cell regeneration. It's different from Poptopose so I called it Hormone X."

Jasper was listening and made his choice. "*cough* I choose Poptopose. I don't wanna reduce my size. I'd rather go the hard way."
Carlos replied. "Which means, Joshua should take Apoptoxin."
Nicah said. "Cool! A real Detective Conan!"
Jem said, "Nah! Joshua's dumb."

Jasper drank the Poptopose. His heart or more precisely, the bones surrounding it were paining." Ahh. He could stand, but the pain still hurt.
Joshua lay down unconscious. But he could still feel. He couldn't see, nor hear but he could feel. He felt a small capsule placed on his mouth and water. He felt his body burning. What is this??? And he felt no more. For he swept to unconsciousness.

Yanna and Jem were carrying the small Joshua, who had shrunk. Carlos and Nicah helped Jasper walk. they all made it to the exit. Yanna looked back at the man. She saw him carrying a remote like thing. He clicked it. Typical. Self-destruction bomb.
"SELF-DSTRUCTION BOMB! RUN!," she shouted.

The Doctor's Climax

Nicah woke up. The last thing she knew was that she had been kidnapped and the car broken. Where am I? She heard a voice.

"Are you awake now?"
Who is he?
"Cmon Nicah. You can do it."
How does he know me?
Her eyes opened and she saw a boy. Roughly the same age. She knew who he was.
"Carlos?"
"Yeah. It's me. Here, drink this, this will cool you down." He showed her a bottle of coca-cola.
'Where are we?" Nicah asked as she drank.
"I believe we are somewhere where are kidnappers brought us."
She looked around the room. It was small, with one small door at the end.
The boy continued, "Frankly, I haven't the faintest idea where we are. We might be in a house, or a dungeon."
"You didn't see them bring you here?"
"Nope, they put me to sleep. Let me guess, while in the car, they stopped and you smelled a chemical gas that made you sleep."
"How many hours have we've been here?"
"Well... If my clock is still working, I'd say I was around here 12 hours. You came in here 5 hours ago."
"Had any luck trying to get out."
"Nope. The door won't budge. It is triple locked from the outside."
"Why did they kidnap you at first?"
"Well... it's something I do."
"What?"
'You may not believe me, but I research on medicine. I'm a doctor. Young as I look, I keep this a secret. Somehow, it leaked. The weird thing is, I've never told this before. Not even my parents."
"Wow. How are we gonna get out of here?"
"I thought about it. If they get captured, they may not tell the police and we will be stuck here...forever."
"No, we won't."
"How do you know?"
"I have faith in God and my friends." A view of the other 4 popped in her head.

Suddenly, amidst their talking, the door unbolted and they saw the old man's face again.
"Hehe," smiling evilly. "Here are two of your so-called friends. It won't be long till I capture the other 2. He shoved Yanna and Jem inside and quickly closed the door.

"Jasper and Joshua are still there." Nicah had hope.
Carlos took out something from his pocket. It was a water of some sort. "Here. I invented this Teoxin. It dissolves in water and takes away sleepiness. Unconsciousness can't be healed though. This is how I stay up late assignments and wake up early for classes." He chuckled. Then he went over to Yanna and Jem and made them drink the Teoxin.
"Give it 5 more minutes."


Jasper met Joshua at the floor.
Jasper breathily asked, "You found them?"
Joshua was losing consciousness then. "No... They're...floor...think..."
"What? I can't understand you."
Joshua's sight was blurring. They're there in that room. Need to... save...
Jasper put Joshua on his back and ran. Joshua was losing energy. He saw a door. At the front of the door was the old man. With a gun pointed straight at them.

Yanna woke up. She saw Jem on her side. *cough* "Joshua..."
She stood up. "Joshua's in trouble! He's somewhere..." She looked around. "You didn't get out yet?"
Nicah replied, "Sadly not."
Jem opened her eyes. Carlos was staring right at her. She stammered. "Are...are...are you Carlos?" Nicah was right. He was handsome.
Carlos said, "She's awake. Now what do we do?"
Yanna said, "You haven't seen how to go out yet?"
Nicah replied, "Aha. I forgot about your observation skills."
"The answer is there on the door. This place is so creepy. A man covered us with this chemical. Jasper fell down a floor. Joshua's hitting the wall again and again."
She found a board on the other side. She wedged it in the small gap between the hinge and the door. She pushed. Carlos, Nicah and Jem helped. The door budged.
"Where'd you learn that?" Carlos asked.
"Pirates of the Caribbean." She replied. And they ran to the door at the other side of the hallway.

The gun was pointed at Jasper. He couldn't move.
"Drop the boy. Let's settle this one on one."
Jasper didn't know what to do. He heard Joshua whisper. "Drop me..."
He did. And quickly he ran toward the old man. He kicked the gun out of his hand. The man was surprised. Jasper took a white belt from his pocket and tied it in his forehead. Surprisingly, the old man, took a black belt from his pocket.
Oh man. There is no way I could beat this. Then he heard someone's voice in the distance. "Yes you can... I believe in you..." This gave him strength. He felt the chinese spirit rushing around him.
"Woooooo-ya!" He cried.
"Haaaaa-yu!" His opponent cried.
And they fought. Jasper kicked high. His opponent punched his stomach. Jasper muffled. He noticed Joshua slowly reaching for the door. He had to give him more time.

Joshua heard banging on the door. He crawled to it, a nail scraped him in his arm. Blood was oozing out.
"Arrrgh!" He cried. He crawled to the door and rested his back on the door. Vibrations. He heard Jem shout. Slowly, he pulled his hand up. He and Jasper were losing. He couldn't reach the handle. His eyes were dimming.

Jasper defended on every move. He didn't have the strength to fight a black belt. He got kicked to the floor. The opponent's foot was on his chin. He was losing. But he nevertheless never gave up.

Joshua reached for the handle. He forced hiself up, grabbed the handle, and turned the knob. The others pushed the door and they came out. Yanna came to him with Carlos. Joshua opposed her. "Save Jasper." Then he felt his heart beating, loudly. "Carlos!" He heard a thump on the ground. And that thump simultaneously sent him to a darkness called night.

Jasper couldn't move. Evrything ached. He looked to the door. Joshua couldn't open it. No. Jasper looked up, trying to bear the pain the black belt gave him. Then he heard a voice. "Jasper!!!" He looked at a girl. He knew who she was though he couldn't remember. Everything turned white. "Aaah!" He couldn't move. "Here! Save him!" He felt his heart beat. It pained him. He closed his eyes.

On the trail once again...

Joshua said, "Kerosene. A substance that is very flammable. Usually used in torches and stuff, this string was soaked with kerosene. This makes it very flammable."
Yanna asked, "So what if it's flammable? What would happen?"
Joshua replied slyly, "Here comes the wine. I guess that wine is one brand called Spirit. It has 96% alcohol in it. If fire comes in contact with it, it might cause a fire or something equal to a bomb. Judging by the wire, I bet it has been used sometime for the past 12 hours."
Jasper checked the time. "1:45"
Joshua smiled. "So it all fits now. If my deductions are correct, we'd find a very important clue in the house."

They arrived at the crime scene. Yanna started searching for something she doesn't know.
Jasper started lifting some heavy things. Jem stared at Joshua, who was apparently looking for something. Yep. It does smell like wine! Jem saw a glint of glass as Jasper lifted up the broken wall.

"Hey guys! I think I saw a piece of glass or soemthing!"
They all turned to the glass. "Isn't the glass supposed to be burned or broken by now?"
Joshua answered. "It isn't. It wasn't here the first place. It was dropped by one of the guys who kidnapped Carlos or maybe when they kidnapped Nicah."
Yanna noticed something. She broke the glass in half. Sliced in the middle of the two was a piece or paper with an address. "That was easy, wasn't it?"

They huried in the car. As soon as they stopped, they looked. A house stood there. A beautiful one. With flower pots, colorful bricks and all.
Jem said. "It seems too innocent to be a villain's house."
Yanna looked at the address and turned around and saw a house on the other side of the street.
"Umm... guys. Turn back."
They all turned back and looked at the house behind them. More precisely, a large, dark, uninhabitated mansion. All but Jasper fidgeted.

"We can't let those guys kidnap Nicah!" Jasper said.
"And Carlos" Jem added.
"Yeah and Carlos. We have to act right now."

They noticed a black minivan on their right. They knew this was the villain's hideout. Somewhere in one of those dungeons hold Nicah and Carlos. Without looking back, they took a step forward... into the darkness of the castle's shadow of doom.

Jasper kicked open the gate. Jem and Yanna followed. With Joshua in the back and his laptop.

They ran across the lawn separating them and the mansion. Each step brought them a sense of fear. Jasper opened the door. "Hello?" It was totally dark. No lights of some sort.
Joshua turned on a light. It was coming from his watch. "I installed it in your watches too."
They all walked in. Jasper at front and Joshua at the back. They found nothing. No traces of where Nicah and Carlos are. No voices. No sound. They didn't dare speak to each other and break the silence. It was creepier now. Only Jasper and Joshua stayed calm.

Jasper whispered, "Where are they?" Then they heard a cracking of floorboard. Yanna and Jem screamed as Jasper fell down to the floor below.
Joshua beamed the light down on the crack. "Jasper! Are you all right?!" He shone the light. Jasper lay down on the floor looking up. "I think I have found a secret passageway!"
"Great! We'll be down there in a few seconds." Josh replied. "Um.. Yanna, Jem, I think we need to..." He looked back. They were gone. "WHERE ARE YOU??! Oh man. Jasper, I lost them!"
"What???!"
"I smell chemicals or something like that. Wait... I think they were forced to sleep."
"Yeah they were. You find them, I'd look for Nicah and Carlos."
"This is getting worse than I thought."

The Lost Group

Jasper rushed through the corridor. There was no light but the light from his watch. He noticed another hallway covered with boards of wood. He kicked it open and ran. "NICAH! I'M COMING TO SAVE YOU!"

Joshua started running. He chased the smell of a chemical, mostly used by crooks to stun people. He knew they were somewhere there. He heard a cough. "Joshua..." He turned to teh hallway to the right. Stop. Dead end. Where did they go? "Joshua..." He heard it somewhere. It must be behind this wall. He hit the wall with full speed but the wall wouldn't budge. If only I was stronger...

This was evolving to a life and death situation. Jasper ran. The wall seemed endless. Suddenly he stepped on a liquid. "Oh man. It's oil!" He saw a light at the end. "Yes!" As he got closer, he noticed a man was carrying a torch. Fire. "Oh my!" There was nowhere else to go but back where he started. The man laughed as he tossed the torch in the oil. Fire spurred evrywhere.
Jasper looked back, the fire was gaining on him. Then he stopped running. "For Nicah..." then surprisingly he rushed towards the fire, through the fire at full speed.

"Aaaaagh!" BAAM It wouldn't budge. Only josh's muscles ached. "I can do this." He paced backwards, ran for the wall. BAAM A frustrated Joshua lay down on the floor. Muscles aching and blood rushing to his head, he stood up once again to try it. BAAM CRASH! Joshua broked the wall. But then he found himself fainting. No. I gotta save them. I must. He regained his consciousness and ran down the stairs, hoping to resolve all this.

Jasper ran to the man. With his jacket burning he knocked down the man, whom he recognized as the younger man from the police station. He quickly removed his jacke and ran upstairs. Suddenly, he bumped with Joshua at the same level.
Jasper breathily asked, "You found them?"
Joshua was losing consciousness then. "No... They're...floor...think..."

Ambush

"Wait," Joshua said. Looking at the computer. "The dot's moving again!!!"
They watched the dot move, slowly at first, then faster and faster then at last it disappeared.
"Oh man!!!" They all said. Jasper deduced. "Must have been destroyed."

They rented a car to go to the address they had seen. Probably something's there. They parked in front of the house. Jasper, Joshua and Yanna stayed in the car. Jem went up to the porch.

DING-DONG

The door opened. "Hello?"
Jem replied, "Hello ma'am. Just asking, did you see a black minivan park here a while ago?"
The kind old lady replied, "I'm sorry. I haven't."
"Thank you very much!"
"You're welcome! And, here's a treat for you." She handed her a bag of cookies. She then closed the door.

Jem went in the car and told the others. Jasper started driving to his house.
Yanna wondered. Why do I have this stain on my shirt? Maybe it's be...
Joshua looked at her. "Hey, what's bothering you?"
"It's just this stain on my shirt."
Jasper, Jem and Joshua looked back.
Jem asked, "What is it?"
Joshua got a small part of it with his hand. "It's liquid. I think it's wine."
Jasper asked, "When do you think did you get that stain?"
Yanna replied, "I don't know. Probably in their van."

Jasper parked the car on the street.
"But what is wine doing in a van like that?"
Jem said, "Beats me. We don't even know where they are?"
Joshua said solemnly. "This is a crime with no clues."
Yanna said again, "Wait. In the car I got something. It was so dark I tried to get everything I hold. It's here." She took out, from her pocket, a long piece of rope. "It was so long that I had to cut only a part of it."
Joshua took it. He looked at it, then smelled it. Then smiled. "My friends, I have figured out how, why and when the house burnt up. This piece of rope was soaked with kerosene!"

Oh man.

Hey Jaz. That was a bit boring I think. Went straight to the police. I like the part when the guys thought they were joking. But I would when they surrendered. Man that was boring. I'll continue the part from the station.

"Officer," said Joshua in the car. "We have a friend who's kidnapped."
"We'll talk about it in the station," said the officer.

They then reached the station and the policemen led the five people in. All of them were handcuffed to prevent escape. They were led to a room where one policeman sat down on a chair behind a desk while the five people just sat down on chairs in front of the desk. It was a small room with only a chair, a desk, and six chairs for suspects. Another policeman stood in the back of the room.

"We didn't do anything!" The two suspects said.
"Oh yes you did! You kidnapped 2 of our friends. Well, maybe we don't know the other one but who cares?" Joshua said. He looked at the inspector.
"Inspector," said Joshua. "I accuse them of kidnapping Carlos Panganiban from 25 Georgeton Street, Fort City, Metro Manila and Nicole Peña!"
"Is this true?" the inspector asked the suspects.
"Kids watch too much Detective Conan these days." the older man replied. "Of course not! My son and I just went on a trip to Baguio, that's all."
The inspector eyed the kids. "I'm sorry kids. But we just can't arrest an innocent person."
Jem replied, "They're not innocent! They're guilty I tell you."
"Any proof?"
The kids were dumbfounded. What proof did we have?
Yanna answered for the group. "I was there! They kidnapped me."
"We found you outside the truck with the other kids."
"Yes! They rescued me from them."
"No proof."
"Inspector, please search their pockets."
The inspector searched their pockets but found nothing.
The kids jaws dropped.
Joshua said, "What?! Sir believe us!"
The younger suspect said, "Well, if you don't have proof, inspector, may you release us?"
The inspector replied, "Okay. I am very sorry for the inconvenience we have caused you. These kids must have been daydreaming."
"Thank you inspector."

The kids went out of the station. They saw the two villains get in the minivan.
"I swear they smirked at us!" Yanna noticed.
Jem replied, "Nobody believes kids these days."
Joshua answered, "The good thing is, they didn't catch you for driving without a license. How will we pay your dad back?"
"Oh man..."
Yanna said, "Let's go to the hospital and visit jasper."

They walked to the hospital. Apparently their car was wrecked. They enetered the E.R. room and saw Jasper in one of those rooms. His foot has miraculously healed. 2 more hours and he is free from the hospital.
Joshua was in shock, "Where did you get so cool healing powers?"
Jasper replied, "No matter. Where the guys jailed?"
Jem answered, "No. The police don't believe kids these days. Apparently they escaped."
Jasper replied, "Then we gotta act quickly"
Yanna said, "The good thing is, I left the homing beacon on their car for emergency."

Joshua opened the computer. He searched for the computer. The red dot rested on one address. 67 Johnson St. Rose Village, Mandaluyong.
"We have to catch them once again." Joshua said.

I love this story. It's so cool. I can tell you where I got the ideas from. Detective Conan. Roflolz. Yay. Yanna posted! You should continue this story Jaz. I'm not the only writer. Or maybe I could finish the whole story. hehe. It's so life-threatening now. Sorry I wrote it like that. But it adds to the suspense. Hehe. God Bless! Bye!

Ang tamad ni jasper...

Jasper said, "Here's the plan. First, we need to find out more about these guys. Second, 1 of us goes there as bait to lure them into him. The rest of us watch and observe. And as soon as we can, get in their minivan. Got it?"
Joshua looked over his computer. "Okay. First question, how do we go there?"

Jem is going to regret lending her car to the group. This time, she was driving. Joshua was stuck to the computer researching.

Yanna asked, "What are you doing, Josh?"
Joshua replied, "Haha. Developing my detective skills by watching Detective Conan."
Yanna was surprised. "YOU ARE??!"

They parked their car one block from the site.
Jasper said, "Who's going to be bait?"
Yanna volunteered. "For Nicah, yes. For Jasper, no."
They all laughed.

Yanna walked slowly toward the house. She switched her glasses with Joshua's eyeglasses, the one with the hidden camera. While she walked, Joshua and the others were monitoring on the computer.
Yanna looked and saw a car. WDG-456 Yep it is the car. She felt like Ms. Congeniality, with the camera glasses and the hidden speaker. Al she had missing was a gun. I'm too young to be carrying guns anyway. She had to trust her acting skills she went too the old man.

The old man didn't notice. Or at least he didn't seem to be. She went near him. In a flash, he turned and grabbed her. He took a gun and said, "Where are the others?"
She wanted to scream but she couldn't.
"I don't know? Who others?" She hoped this would work.
"Don't lie to me. I could easily squeeze this trigger."
Joshua, I hope you are watching this because it's getting real scary.

Joshua cried. "Oh man! My compuer's busted."
Jasper shushed him. "Shhhhh!"
'I could easily squeeze this trigger.' That was obviously NOT yanna!"
Jem said, "Oh my."

Joshua and Jasper opened the doors. Joshua didn't care about the computer that fell nor did Jasper care about insulting Joshua.

They went to the street and was disappointed at what they saw. The car wasn't there. Nor was Yanna. Joshua rushed to the pavement.

"There's no blood. She's alive."
Jasper smiled. My friend, we have succesfully placed a homing beacon on their car. Neither of them would get hurt.
Jem drove the car slowly beside them, also carrying the broken laptop.
Joshua cried. "No! My multimedia library of Detective Conan is ruined!"
Jasper got mad. "How then are we supposed to track her without the computer??!"
Joshua placed the broken laptop in its case and got another one from the bag. "Always keep a spare one."

He opened the computer and he tracked down Yanna. Jem drove as fast as she can. They were now on the main highway.
"Their headquarters are far from here I think." Jem said.

But then the car made a slight turn to the right. Jem followed. It turned to the left, Jem followed.
Jasper replied, "I think you are making him conspicious."

A little bit of Chess

Jasper replied, "It sounds like a chess game. We have to find a way to check mate them. Right smack in the corner."
Yanna asked, "How are we gonna do that?"
"We go to their house and try to sneak in. I have a plan but I need one more person. It was supposed to be Nicah but she's gone. Guess I have to think of another one."

Suddenly the doorbell rang. Joshua thought Who could that be?
"Hi Jem!"
Jasper suddenly shouted, "GREAT!"

The Dangerous Job

Joshua couldn't stop thinking. Why was Carlos kidnapped? Did he have something?
Jasper couldn't stop thinking. Why did Carlos call Nicah? Does she have something no one else had?
Yanna couldn't stop thinking. How did that old man in the burnt house know sll about Carlos? What guy would monitor a kid until 3 am in the morning?
As if bulbs had lighted up in their heads, they cried in unison, "NICAH'S IN DANGER!"

Joshua said, "Oh man. Nicah got the car. How will we get there?"
Yanna got her cellphone and dialled Nicah's number. "Hello? Nicah, where are you?"
"I am already here in his house. The man's here and what's strange is that he seems to know that I'd be here."
"Nicah, whatever you do..."
A sound of glass breaking. Shattered pieces. A terrified scream.
"Nicah! NICAH! Where are you?"
Cmon. Don't tell me the phone was broken.
Out of the screams, she heard a scream. "WDG-456!"

Jasper sat down. Mad at himself fornot being with Nicah. Yanna waited. Joshua without any hesitation opened his laptop. Ingeniously, he connected the computer to the phone. He typed the number 5290437. An address appeared on his computer. 25 Georgeton Street, Fort City, Metro Manila and then in all caps - DEMOLISHED. NO BODIES FOUND. But he tried calling the phone through the computer.

"Hello?" An old voice appeared on the other side.
Yanna and Jasper neared the computer to listen.
"You fool! Don't you know other's might found out..." the line went down.
Joshua called the number again but this time it was a plain dead line.

Jasper asked, "Were you able to trace that call?!"
Joshua smiled. "Of course! I got the address."
Yanna then told them about the plate number she heard Nicah mention.
Joshua typed in "WDG-456" in the computer. Through a series of complicated windows, Joshua found a picture of the car. It was a black minivan. Under it was the address.

Joshua smiled, "The addresses match!"

The Secret Telephone Number

Jasper answered, "Don't you understand it? The bomb was a diversion."
Joshua said, "Oooohhh! So this explosion will cause us to think he died because of the bomb."
Yanna replied, "I got a theory. At 2 am or earlier, he saw the robbers. Maybe he found his way to the phone and called Nicah. Then he was suddenly grabbed by the robbers."
Nicah mentioned, "Great! Now we are one step closer to finding Carlos."
Joshua replied, "Don't you mean a hundred? We have no clues to where he went. Except for..."
They eyed the piece of paper containing the number.
They all cried in unison, "THE PHONE NUMBER!"

They all got in the Mini Cooper and started driving back to their headquarters, a.k.a. Jasper's mansion. This time, Joshua drove the Mini Cooper more slowly. It was quiet. They were thinking about the seven numbers. 5290437 What could this mean?

They had seen nothing unusual. Yanna could't find anything suspicious. Their only lead was the telephone number.

Joshua then said, "What if the "Help" before the telephone number meant something? Or what if the number itself is a code. Nicah, did you record the conversation?"
Nicah sadly replied, "No..."
They all sighed.
Suddenly Jasper realized, "Nicah! Did you check your answering machine? Maybe Carlos called back!"

They suddenly changed destination. Nicah's house.
Nicah shouted in astonishment. Her house has been ransacked. The door has been left wide open. Nicah rushed to the answering machine, only finding the tape stolen.

Nicah sighed in despair, "They must have got the address from Carlos. Now we don't have any other clues."
Yanna saw something in the corner of her eye. She looked and she smiled. "Maybe not...!"

Joshua said, "I figured out something about the numbers. "
Nicah replied, "I know the address. 25 Georgeton Street, Fort City, Metro Manila."
Josh said, "Great! I packed us some lunch, so we can go there."
Jasper looked at the pack of food Joshua prepared. "You bake?!"
Josh nodded with a smile. "Yup! Creme Brulee!"
Yanna and Nicah laughed. "Sounds like something familiar."

Josh sat on the drivers seat.
Jasper volunteered, "Umm... Josh? I think I should drive. you know. You're tooy oung."
Josh replied, "You're too young too!"
"But I look older."
"Yeah whatever."

After a very very sharp turn, Yanna shouted, "I'm getting sick of your driving Joshua."
"AHHHHHHH!"
The Mini Cooper they have ridden drove past the street, unaware of the red light on the postr above it. After they had missed a gasoline truck, Joshua stopped the car.
"We're here."
Jasper said "Hey Josh. I need to eat something before I die."

But they turned back, astonished as they saw the house that they were looking at. Or more precisely, a burned pile of steel and wood.

Okay!!!

I'll start...

Downtown, in one of those rooms where a children't choir was currently practising in, 4 kids sat on the corner. Sure they looked normal, one even looked like a monkey! But they were more than that. For instnce, Nicah, the team leader, though the youngest in the group, makes great decisions for the group. She is a smart thinker. Yanna is the keen observer. She has 40-40 vision! (if she wears her glasses!!) Jazper always stays at front, protecting the group from harm's way with his super powered chinese black belt karate chops (or is karate japanese?). Joshua is the last member and the most supportive. Usually he is on the computer, researching for the group's top secret missions and prepares all the stuff like food, water and Bibles. If you'd see him right now, he will have such big eyebags and super high grades in his eyes. He drives, he builds, he cooks and sweats!!! for the group! Don't be fooled by his multi-tasked activities, he is just a very very very corny person who has 1% sight, 1% hearing, 1% taste, 1% touch, 1% touch and 345.678% nonsense. Someday, he wishes to make the perfect "creme brulee"!

Our story begins one Friday night. Nicah woke up at 2:00 AM, startled at the ringing telephone on her lap. The last night she used the phone to call Jazper, the reason? Unknown. So she answers the phone.
"Hello?" the voice on the phone said. "Help! 5290437! Ahhhh!"
"Hello?" Nicah replied but all she heard was the monotonous tone of the phone. Nicah knew what she has to do.

Nicah turned on her computer. She sent an email to Joshua, telling him to research on this starnge number. Of course, Joshua's 24/7. She waited until she heard a "cling" from her computer which of course means a message has arrived. Working on it. 7 numbers? Must be a telephone number. Nicah closed her computer prayed that everything would be alright and climbed on her bed.

The next day, she arranged for a meeting in Jasper's house. Jasper's house wasn't just a house, it was a big mansion with a capital M. His room had thousands of awards framed on the walls for winning in karate and chess competitions.
"Why are we all here? Well, Joshua's late. Is he sleeping on his computer again?" Yanna said.
"Someone called me this morning muttering only 7 numbers. Here, I wrote them down on paper." Nicah replied.
"So Joshua's doing this. While waiting let's call this number. Maybe it's a telephone no." Jasper thought.
