Burglar... in Jet's house!!!

The rain started pouring heavily. Almira was the first to speak up.
"Jet should be home by now."
"What do you mean?" Jem asked.
"He was on a 1 and a half month vacation. Somewhere in Europe I think. I like his job. Answering surveys on places he visits. So, like for 1 month he's in Egypt, answering a survey, how hot it is, blah. And then the next month, he's in Antarctica, answering a survey on how many hours he stood frozen there."
"Cool job," Jasper exclaimed and they all laughed.

The car stopped in front of the apartment. The house had 2 floors. The first with 3 doors. The second with 2 doors.
"Yep, Jet's house, 2nd floor, 2rd door." Yanna said.
"Looks like my old house in Cubao," Joshua said.
They all went down. Joshua got his laptop.
"Isn't that laptop gonna get wet?" Yanna asked.
"Excuse me, miss, but do you not know this is waterproof?"
"That's no way to talk to someone older than you!"
"I AM older than you!"
"Not today!!!"
"It stinks being small. How can kids endure the pain of being bossed around by us?"
"Now you know..."
"Stop it guys. Plan? Meet Jet, ask him to help us find Mishka, possibly squeeze him in Jet's old car," Nicah said. "Which means, Joshua needs to sit on someone's lap."
"Oh man..." Joshua moaned.

Up 1 floor, 1st door... they stopped.
Jem knocked, "Jet? Are you home?"
Knock. Knock. "He's not home."
Jasper tried the knob. "It's not locked. Nor is it open." The knob deattached itself from the door and stayed in Jasper's hand. "It was jammed."
Yanna said, "Which means, someone is in there. A burglar."
Jasper kicked the door at it's weak spot. Near the knob. The door opened. Jazz opened the lights and....

Nothing. Almira left her shoes inside near the big gigantic cabinet where Jet keeps his trenchcoats. The others followed. Jet's shoes were just in front of the cabinet. They were slightly overturned.
Joshua said, "Wow. This cabinet's so huge. I bet we could fit two Jaspers in there!"
They laughed. "Don't touch it. That's Jet's." Nicah said.
They went to the small kitchen and table and living room. Everything was so neat. Just then, they went to the bedroom. They saw the window wide open with the windows ripped.
"The burglar may have jumped out of here," Almira said.
"Nope, it's too high to jump from and land alive." Nicah said.
Yanna whispered something to Joshua and Jasper. They nodded.
Jem, Nicah, Almira and Yanna then sat at the living room. Trusting Yanna, they pretended to talk about something. Joshua found some rope in Jet's storage room. Jasper and Joshua then stood near the front door.

*What in the world are they doing???!*

The big cabinet door opened. A short man came out. He looked at the girls in the living room. They couldn't see him with their backs turned. He then turned to the front door when... BAM!
Jasper knocked him out of consciousness. He fell down. Joshua then came and tied him.

"Caught him." The girls then looked back. And together they dragged him to the living room.
Nicah went to the phone and called the police. They'd be here in 15 minitues.
Jem asked Yanna, "How'd you know?"
She replied, "See how neat everything is? Jet must be a really neat guy. (May not be true in real life but for the sake of the story) Look in front of the cabinet. See the overturned slippers and shoes. When we knocked, the guy must have noticed we were here. So he rushed and hid in that big cabinet. The window was a mere diversion. And when he thought we were not noticing him when we were talking, he crept out of the cabinet. Not realizing Jazper and Joshua were there."
Almira praised her, "You're so good! No wonder you were called Pfkada!"
Nicah explained, "Actually, Pfkada was named after Praise Factory and Barkada. It has nothing to do with detective work or other stuff."
Jasper said, "Nicah's real good. She got us involved in our first case with Carlos. That's when I almost died."
Joshua said, "I almost died too!"
Jem said, "Good thing Carlos was there to shrink Josh and heal Jaz. Carlos is the doctor guy."
Nicah said, "Well... he's kinda cute."
